Q. Is our marriage legal worldwide?
A. Yes, your marriage is legal worldwide. Approximately 4 to 6 weeks after your ceremony, Sweet Dreams will send you your official sealed marriage certificate.
Q. What legal documents are required to be married in Bermuda?
A. An “ intent of Marriage” form must be filled out and submitted to the Registrar General for processing. A license will be issued after 15 working days of which is valid for 90 days. This license costs $243, which includes posting in the local newspaper and a sealed marriage certificate. You can purchase an additional certificate for an extra fee.
Q. If divorced, can I get married in Bermuda?
A. Yes, a copy of your divorce decree would need to be filed with the “Intent of Marriage” form.

Q. Do we have to be on the island for a certain period of time before we can get married?
A. No, there is no required length of stay.
Q. Do we need a blood test?
A. No, a blood test is not necessary.
Q. Do we need witnesses?
A. Yes, two witnesses must sign your certificate. They need to be 18 years or older.
Q. Is there a legal age to be married in Bermuda?
A. Yes, you must be 18 years or older to be married in Bermuda. If you are younger then 18, you will need a written notarised consent from your parent or guardian.
Q. Being Catholic, can I get married in Bermuda?
A. Yes, you may be married in Bermuda. However, Catholic Priests only marry inside the church – no outdoor weddings ceremonies are allowed.
Q. Can I get married in a church?
A. Yes, you can be married in a church for a fee. If you are divorced, some churches will not marry you. Counselling sessions may have to be performed before your ceremony.
Q. Can formal wear be rented in Bermuda?
A. Yes, however, measurements would have to be sent before hand and a final fitting is required.
Q. Where can I get married?
A. There are many places on this beautiful island that you can stand and say, “I do”. What about a clifftop ceremony, or on a beach, in a garden, a boat sailing around the island or in the oldest church in the western hemisphere. Whatever you decide, Sweet Dreams will make come true.
Q. How much does a wedding cost in Bermuda?
A. This all depends on what you want. No wedding is the same. Sweet Dreams can not quote you a price unless we have all the necessary information, such as, will there be cocktails, dinner reception, ceremony in a church or on the beach, flowers, DJ versus a band etc. Once we have an idea of what you want and how much you wish to spend, we would better be able to serve you.
